Freedom of movement is easy to take for granted. This becomes especially clear when you have some sort of movement restriction.
One of the things that reduce your flexibility and range of motion over time is making a habit of sitting for hours at a time.

Hip flexors get tight

The hip flexor muscles enable
you to lift your knees up, as well
as move your leg backwards.
But to do this they need to be
strong and flexible. The seated
position inherently tightens up
your hip flexors. This has knock-on
effects that tighten other muscles
and compromise your posture.
