The quadriceps are one of the strongest muscles in the human body. They are needed for almost all movements of everyday life, that’s why they need to be strong and functional.



Leg extensions is a great stationary movement for strengthening the quadriceps. This movement isolates the muscles in the quadricep ensuring that microtears are focused to the affected muscle only. Modifying the movement by turning your feet inward or outward, helps to isolate the individual muscles and builds great strength.

Only doing isolation exercises can cause muscle imbalances; compound movements help to prevent this. More on that next week.
