No seriously, light weight. Comparing yourself to others in the gym can cause injury that will seriously restrict your movements. Our bodies need to be trained to handle the strain of certain movements, especially when they require added weight.

Movements place strain on different muscle groups. These muscles are harmed when overloaded with weight. Being able to do a movement without putting your body at risk takes time and practice. Using lighter weights periodically to strengthen your muscles reduces these risks tremendously.

Technique is often the first thing that is overlooked when training with weights. How deep to squat and not extending your knee over your toes when you lunge, are techniques that need to be done right. The proper technique can make your training more effective and protect your body in the long term.
