Did you know, your shoulder is the most mobile joint in your body. To make movement easier, your joints and muscles must be working properly.

When reaching or lifting, your humerus (upper arm bone) rotates in your shoulder to allow you to swing. The four muscles that allow this movement make up the rotator cuff. The rotator cuff has two main jobs. The first if to keep the arm bone centered in the shoulder joint and the second, allows your arm to move in different directions.

Making sure your shoulder and the surrounding muscles are strong won’t only make movement easier, but it’ll also lower your injury risk. A great exercise to strengthen your shoulder and rotator cuff is the alternate leg-arm raise.
